A few weeks ago I had to write a short essay answering this question: In 10 years from now if we were to do an internet search of your name, what would we find? It was honestly something I had to really think about and lately my response has been on my mind more and more so I wanted to publish it and share it with others.
Ten years from now if you were to do an online search for “Christopher Poole”, I believe you would find a man that has dedicated his life to serve “at risk” children around the world. Hopefully you would find very little about me though because I’m only a small piece of a much bigger puzzle. There are children all over the world that need their voice to be heard and need to be equipped for the future. These children have names, dreams, and hopes just as we do and I refuse to sit on the side lines and watch them become statistics. Ten years from now, I hope that as people search for me online they find success stories about children who have left Project Samuel, equipped spiritually, physically, and mentally, and made an impact in the lives of others or their nations. Or maybe they will see the smiles and the hope that children currently living at Project Samuel are experiencing! Whatever the case, I hope they see the kids I’m serving. Thats what its about. All I do has nothing to do with me. Yes, I’m fulfilled in doing it but what really matters is the lives and futures of those kids around the world. If you live your whole life worried about nothing more than what you do then I believe you missed the point. Life is supposed to be about something
bigger than just “me”. Its about living it with a purpose and a passion. Mine happens to be the futures of “at-risk” children around the world.
What is your purpose and passion? What has God put on your heart to do? What drives you each morning to keep persevering and pressing on? If you haven’t found it just yet I hope that you do because its not too late! If I can do nothing more than encourage you to find that God given purpose in your life and press towards it, thats perfectly ok. Living life with a purpose makes living life just that much better!
