All-In-One

Hey, I am Lizzy and I want to share with you one of the days I will never forget! This day was “all-in-one.” What I mean is that on this day I was happy, afraid, nervous, shy, etc

A few weeks ago, it was Youth Sunday at my church, Emmanuel Assembly (BIGOCA). So it was the youth who ran this Sunday at church….and I was given this opportunity and asked to lead the sermon.

I was nervous in the first place because I had never done something like that. And I wondered how it would be, and I thought to myself, “I hope I won’t sink in my clothes in front of the people in my church!”

So I talked to God about it the night before. I was reading my Bible in the book of Judges, chapter six. The story of how God used Gideon to rescue the Israelites. Gideon asked for a sign to be sure if God was really with him. With this book I talked to God to help me stand before his people. That same night through a dream He let me know that He was going to be with me. And the next morning I worried no more because I knew that God was going to be with me, because with Him nothing is impossible.

I went to church and it was my time to stand and preach the word of God, without knowing how, but I felt confidence and high self-esteem. The theme was “WHERE IS YOUR THANK YOU?” It came from the book of Luke 17: 11-19. That we must be grateful with things the Lord is doing for us in our lives. And I stood this day in front of all my brothers and sisters, mothers and some members of my church with confidence. And at the end of the serviceAuntieKim and Uncle Brenden said, “Lizzy that was GREAT,” which mademe feel more happy…and most of the people said that it was nice.

I thanked God for that, because He was with me and He took away all my fear and made me understand that with Him nothing is impossible. And I was as well, grateful for the support my family from Project Samuel that Auntie Kim and Nana Helen and UncleBrenden gave me.
