Hunger Pains

“From the time when DLI came here in Zambia my character has changed, even my worshipping my Lord. I started worshipping my Lord in spirit and in truth.”

Peter, a student in the second year of Destiny Leadership Institute (DLI), has been transformed by the knowledge of the Holy Spirit. Being raised in a church that did not believe in the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, Peter was taught that Christ was only in Heaven, but not inside of the believer. DLI has had a profound impact on not only his understanding of the Bible, but on his relationship with Jesus Christ! Peter now knows of the intimacy and empowerment that the Holy Spirit brings to the relationship of the Christian with Jesus Christ.

This is but one success story of DLI. There are many people in Zambia alone that are hungry for a deeper understanding of the Bible and perhaps unknowingly thirsty for the Living Water that Christ spoke about in John 7:38. It is amazing how many people throughout Zambia are requesting for DLI to come to their village or their church so that they may learn and teach others. The response to DLI is exciting and overwhelming at the same time, there is a large opportunity and an even larger call. Just as so many back home are such a big part of the ministry here in Zambia, there is a vast need to train leaders that can steward this call and take it further than we’ve ever imagined.

Who knew that Destiny Leadership Institute could have such an impact in Zambia. Project Samuel, being first and foremost a refuge for at-risk children, brings change not only to the lives of children but also to the lives of pastors, church members, men, women, villagers, farmers, business people, and the ordinary person. Why should change stop at children? The vision here is broad, “Renewing minds and changing lives around the world.”
