“This is it, the big one.” I tell myself as we’re on the flight to Houston, TX to spend two weeks with Pastor Timothy and everyone at Relationships For Christ Ministries (RFC). Not as if we’re having a break down as the term is often used, but in the sense that we are making the largest leap we’ve ever dreamed! This isn’t just another short-term mission trip, this is life!
The past two weeks in Houston have flown by and we’re transitioning from home life as we knew it, to home life as we want to know it! No longer will home be where we live, but where we do ministry, where we serve, where we don’t just dream but we do! I can’t even describe the action and excitement of the past two weeks in so few words. Katie and I have had time to bond with Pastor Timothy and his family as well as the RFC family during this transition. Though we’ve left life long friends back home in Kentucky and Indiana, we are excited to be adding more life long friends to our list!
Just in these past two weeks Timothy has taken me on three road trips! First we went North to Dallas, then South to Victoria, and we finished up in Louisiana; all the while meeting with people and pastors who all have a heart for missions! Becoming a part of RFC is so exciting because I’m finding that I am surrounded by like-minded individuals that have a similar heart and vision. Through all the chaos and craziness, God has blessed us with such a peace. We know this is God’s will, we know that He is sovereign, and there is nothing we can do to mess up His plans. But one thing is for sure, we don’t want to miss out on God’s plans! So as we align ourselves with His will, there’s no telling where this journey will take us. Next stop Zambia, and after that…only God knows!
