So this morning, I was making breakfast and my favorite little pan has decided its broken. Before you ask, no its not operator error, its definitely the pan. You see, the last few times I have tried to make eggs in the pan, they got stuck to the bottom, not matter how much oil I put in it. All I wanted was some scrambled eggs!! Today however, I thought I would try fried eggs…maybe it would work better. As you’re probably expecting, my eggs did NOT come out all perfect and pretty. HOWEVER, they were still delicious. Even though the yolk broke, and they looked kind of scrambled and were not what I had in MY mind that I wanted, they were still nutritious and good for me.
In that moment, it dawned on me, “How often does God do that with our lives?!” We put OUR eggs in OUR pan and do want what WE want, and when it doesn’t turn out they way we envisioned, we instantly panic and decide that we never would have wanted eggs in the first place if we knew it was going to be this messy. This can apply to so many things: christianity as a whole, relationships, careers or places God calls you. For me (and all of us at RFCM), its constructing Project Samuel Nicaragua.
God reminded me this morning be patient with HIS eggs. Everything, being Project Samuel, will cook in its perfect timing. Sometimes I feel like we aren’t building fast enough or growing as quickly as I would like, BUT God has got this! He is the master chef and I am so thankful. He has blessed RFCM and Project Samuel beyond belief.
If you’re struggling with your place in life, or feel like you’ve ruined your eggs, take a breath and know that there is nothing you can do or not do to thwart God’s plan for your life. Keep seeking and listening.
